The Castle Rock Kitchen

Set into the mountainside at Castle Rock, this kitchen was designed to feel closely connected to its natural surroundings, with sweeping sea views in front and the mountain rising behind. The space brings together bold blue cabinetry, a warm wooden countertop and natural flooring, creating a balance between calm, grounded materials and a confident use of colour.

The blue cabinetry gives the kitchen its energy and character, picking up on the tones of the ocean while still feeling bright and expressive. Against this, the wooden countertop brings a sense of weight, warmth and natural texture, anchoring the space and tying it back to the mountain setting.

Designed as a practical everyday kitchen with a strong connection to place, the project celebrates honest materials, simple forms and carefully considered details, resulting in a space that feels calm, grounded and full of personality.
