Kommetjie Beach House Kitchen

Set within an open-plan family home near the beach in Kommetjie, this kitchen was designed as a social and highly functional living space centred around a large island opening directly onto the pool area. The project combined custom spray-finished cabinetry with solid oak handles and floating shelves, creating a balance between warmth and minimalism. Working closely with the client, who is a chef, the ergonomics and workflow of the kitchen were carefully refined to suit daily use. Throughout the space, a number of personal touches were integrated — including a custom oak crockery display designed around unique collected pieces, a matching recipe book and wine storage unit, and restored details that brought character and history into the finished kitchen.
